Some wedding days just feel easy.
Everyone is relaxed, the timeline falls into place, and you spend the whole day smiling because the people you’re surrounded by are genuinely excited to be there. That’s exactly what this wedding at Lake Wissota Golf & Events felt like.
If you’ve been looking at wedding venues near Eau Claire or Chippewa Falls, there’s a good chance you’ve come across Lake Wissota Golf Course and that’s for good reason. Between the beautiful ceremony space overlooking the lake, the mature trees, and all the little pockets around the property for portraits, it’s one of those venues that gives you so much variety without ever having to leave PLUS the covered balcony that wraps around the venue helps with making sure you have great light even on rainy days.
A Lakeside Ceremony with the Best View
One of my favorite parts of the day was the ceremony.
The flowers framed the lake perfectly, the breeze coming off the water kept everyone comfortable, and it was one of those ceremonies where everyone was smiling before it even started.
It’s simple, beautiful, and doesn’t need much decorating because the view really does most of the work.
Portraits Without Ever Leaving the Venue
One thing I always appreciate about weddings at Lake Wissota Golf is how many different portrait locations there are.
Within just a few steps you’ve got gorgeous trees,the little stream and cute bridge with the wedding venue as the backdrop, the golf course, the lakeside ceremony space, and an open grassy areas and the amazing thing is that all those areas photograph completely differently. It makes the day feel relaxed because you’re not spending your wedding driving from place to place and herding people around you’re just walking a few steps away while they enjoy some cocktails and getting some amazing looking portraits. You’re day feels more we’re here and present vs where do we have to go next!
The Sweetest Group of People
I know everyone says they had the best wedding party, but this group really was so much fun and you could tell how much they love Kayden & Ethan. The speeches were heartfelt, hilarious, and talked not only about the amazing memories they all share but about how perfect Kayden and Ethan are for each other.
And can I take a minute to to talk about those flowers? The soft pinks, lavender, and cream bouquets looked absolutely perfect against the summer greens around the venue. The florist at Gilded Grace & Co absolutely rocked these bouquets, colors, and all the ceremony florals.
Why I Love Photographing Weddings at Lake Wissota Golf
Every venue has its own personality, and Lake Wissota Golf has such an easy, relaxed feel to it and the sunsets are always some of the best golden hour shots ever! I love photographing at Lake Wissota because of how easy it makes the wedding days for my couples… it’s relaxed, gorgeous, and they get to focus on whats important to them the people they love and having fun.
Plus. you get beautiful lake views, plenty of space for guests, and so many different places for portraits without feeling like you’re rushing all over. It makes the day flow so well, and that means couples actually get to enjoy their wedding instead of feeling like they’re constantly on the move.
After photographing well over 100 weddings in the Eau Claire and Western WI area I can say Lake Wissota always makes the top of my favorite venues list and because of those golden hour photos below it is not hard to see why. STUNNING!!
